Care For Life was founded in 1995 by Mary Peters. Care For Life provides Geriatric Care Management and homecare monitoring for seniors in the Tri-County Metro Area of Charleston, South Carolina.

Geriatric Care Management is an interactive process with families that assures long term care expectations are met for aging adults who are recovering from surgery, those with chronic illnesses and others who need companionship and help with activities of daily living.

Mary E. Peters has been a healthcare professional for thirty-plus years. She began her career as an Occupational Therapist and was soon recruited as a Federal Lobbyist in Washington, DC, for Medicare and Medicaid issues. read more...


Sheena Janse

Vice President/Chief Operating Officer

As Vice President and Chief Operating Officer manages day to day operations, strategic planning, case management and oversees care services at Care for Life. She works closely with our clients and family members to offer support and guidance as they navigate the challenges that arise with the aging process.

Sheena has over 25 years of experience in senior care having served as Admissions Director of a Rehab and Nursing Center, Executive Director of an assisted living facility and Senior Advisor in Homecare. Janse had served on the Board of Directors of SCARCH (South Caroline Association of Residential Care Homes) for several years, she currently serves on the Board of Directors of Low Country Senior Networking and the Greater Charleston Chapter of NAIPC (National Aging in Place Council) and Volunteers on the Alzheimer’s Association’s Walk to End Alzheimer’s.

When she’s not spending time with her three children and husband, Sheena enjoys boating, reading and participates in many volunteer opportunities



 Renee Burton

Renee R. Burton is a Charleston native with 15 plus years of experience in healthcare. She began her experience in a skilled nursing facility as a data entry clerk and quickly worked her way up to Director of Admissions and Marketing. Within this industry is where she gained her wealth of knowledge in senior care, skilled nursing, social services and human resources.

Renee’s desire to work in healthcare came from watching her Mother work as a nurse for over 35 years. From this she learned that helping others is one of the most rewarding positions in life. She believe that compassion and understanding are the basic qualities needed to provide professional healthcare.

In her spare time Renee enjoys spending time with her family and friends..
